The Adaptative Nature of Humans' may well be the be-all or end-all of most humans. Most oftentimes, we force ourselves to do some things that we don't like to do -- discipline ourselves not to watch television or go out during exam period, grudgingly obey a superior's orders despite resentment, force ourselves to love or get along with someone that we don't really feel compatible with. While some of the scenarios may not have too serious implications, there are instances when our hearts start to waver and wander...we start to feel indignant or depressed over some matters concerning the social and love circles. The following are some instances tat illustrate the adaptability of humans tat may lead them to ruin. may bring them unnecessary troubles in the future.
1) People ask you to smoke. You reject at first but after a while, you give in and start to " try ". It eventually becomes an addiction and on reflection, sometimes you wish you had learnt to discipline yourself and keep away from it.
2) Your ex-boyfriend asks you to give him one more chance. You reject at first but after repeated attempts, you admit you still have some feelings for him so you give in. ( NOTE: This is a subjective matter, it doesn't necessarily mean that reconciling with your ex-bf is a bad thing... )
3) You bought a shirt that is too tight and uncomfortable. Your mother asks you to change with the store for another size, but you are too lazy. You wear it out one day and the shirt tears as a result of vigorous activity.
While sometimes patience is a virtue, there seem to be a 1 million and 1 things that are hell-bent on getting on your nerves and breaking you down. Hmm...well...me haven't invent a fool-proof formula that can tell you when to adapt ( grin and bear with it ) or not to adapt ( upset ) to the situations. Time heals, Things change, Memories Fade. But there are some matters that you can rely on experience to tell you when to adapt or walk off. However, affairs of the heart are ( IMHO ) best resolved by confiding in a close friend, seeking their opinions b4 deciding on the next course of action. Eeto...isn't me a Brilliant Philisopher, Oh boy !, they should rank me with 1 of the top philosophers like Plato, Archimedes and Socrates. ^.^;;
